These two movements are the conclusion of Songs of Solomon. Featuring antiphonal double choir voicing and a dramatic climax, “Ecstasy” is a rhapsodic exploration of earthly pleasures. “Epilogue” serves as a coda for the entire work, and contains a comforting mezzo-soprano solo and deep, rich sonorities to close.
